I love eating egg a couple times a week; egg is something,
which could be had for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I always come up with a new
way to serve egg, as there are a lot of ways we could serve and enjoy it.
Here are a few new innovative ideas with we could come up with egg!
Egg Bhruji or Spicy Indian Scrambled Egg!
Most everyone knows how to make egg bhurji let me give you my way of making egg bhurji. Once we learn how to make egg bhurji, I will give you some ideas to use it in different ways.
Ingredients:
2-Large eggs.
1-Large tomato pureed.
1-Medium sized onion chopped.
1-Green chili chopped.
½-Tablespoon salt or as per desired.
Some chopped coriander.
A pinch of black pepper.
1-Tablespoon oil.
½-Teaspoon lemon juice.
½-Teaspoon cumin powder.
Method of preparation:
In a mixing blow add some salt, black pepper and egg,
Beat the egg for one minute
In a nonstick pan add the oil and add chopped onions, green
chili and fry till onion is translucent,
Add cumin power and stir
Now add tomato puree and fry till the paste is cooked.
You will know, when the tomato puree has changed its color
Now add the egg and stir thoroughly, till the egg is cooked,
Add chopped cilantro and serve
This can be served with home made chapattis or bread.
Different ways of serving egg bhurji !
Wrap: Make a wrap by applying green coriander chutney on the
base or chapatti now add some grated cheese, chopped capsicum, egg bhurji and serve.
This makes a good after school snack for children or a good lunch at school.
Grilled sandwiches: Add egg bhurji in between two slices of
bread and make a tempting grilled sandwich. Serve with ketchup.
On toasted bread: This is one of my favorite ways of serving
egg bhurji. Toast bread, add egg burji on it with some grated cheese on top
children love it.
Tortilla chips: Egg
bhurji can be served on tortilla chips-get a packet of tortilla chips and add
the egg bhurji, grated cheese, some ketchup or chutney and serve as an
appetizer.
Subs: Add egg bhruji to a fresh sub with some grated
carrots, chopped green capsicum, chopped raw onion and some home made chutney.
Boiled Egg!
Boiled egg and grated cheese: I often make use this
combination for a variety of reasons, one-boiled egg is healthy two-it is very
easy anyone can make this.
Grilled Egg Sandwiches:
Ingredients:
1 Boiled egg grated.
1 Cube cheese grated.
1-Green chili chopped.
Salt to taste.
A pinch of black pepper.
2-Slices bread.
Chopped coriander (optional).
Method of preparation:
Mix all the ingredients and make grilled sandwiches serve
hot with tomato ketchup.
Canopies: Find a
packet of canopies in your grocery store and fry the canopies, keep aside,
grate boiled egg, cheese and boiled potato (optional) add some salt, black pepper and chopped green chili. Sprinkle some cilantro and top with green coriander
chutney or ketchup, kids love this combination.
Grated cheese and boiled egg on baked chips: Get on e packet
of baked Lays potato chips and add grated boiled egg and grated cheese, top with
ketchup and serve.
Toast Magic: Toast brown wheat bread and top with grated egg
and cheese,let the cheese melt, sprinkle salt and black pepper, serve hot at tea time.
Stir Fry Egg :
Ingredients :
2-Hard boiled eggs.
1-Onion cut lengthwise.
1-Green chili chopped.
A handful of green spring onions .
1 Small chopped tomato (optional).
Salt to taste.
1/2-Black pepper.
1/2-Teaspoon red chili powder.
1/2-Teaspoon cumin powder.
1-Tablespoon oil.
2-3 Drops of fresh lemon juice.
Method of preparation:
In a non-stick pan add oil.
Fry the onions, green chili, chopped tomato.
Add green spring onions, salt, black pepper.
Add red chili powder and cumin powder.
Once the paste is ready and dry.
Add fresh lemon juice.
Add the quartered hard boiled eggs.
Stir gently.
Serve hot with home made chapattis.
Yummy Omelet!
Here a few ways to serve omelet in different ways.
Grilled Cheese omelet sandwich:
For making omelet:
Ingredients:
2-Beaten eggs.
1-Small onion chopped.
1-Green chili chopped.
Salt to taste.
A pinch of black peeper.
Chopped cilantro.
½-Tablespoon oil.
Method of preparation:
In a mixing blow add all the ingredients.
Now heat the oil in a non-stick pan and make the omelet.
Grilled Cheese Omelet Sandwich:
Ingredients:
2-Slices of bread.
1-Cube grated cheese.
1-Omelet cooled and cut into strips.
Method of preparation:
Add omelet strips and grated cheese in between two slices of
bread and make grilled sandwiches, serve hot with ketchup.
Omelet French toast:
Ingredients:
2-Beaten eggs.
1-Small onion chopped.
1-Green chili chopped.
Salt to taste.
A pinch of black peeper.
Chopped cilantro.
½-Tablespoon oil.
Method of preparation:
In a mixing blow add all the ingredients.
Cut one slice of bread in half and add it to this mixture.
Dip both sides and fry in a non-stick pan.
Let it cook till it turns nice and golden brown.
Serve hot with chutney or cheese.
Omelet roll:
Ingredients:
1-Home made chapatti.
Amul cheese spread.
1-Omelet made by following the above directions.
½-Tomato chopped.
1-tablespoon tomato ketchup.
Some chopped green spring onions (optional).
Method of preparation:
Spread the cheese on the chapatti and now lay the omelet on
it.
Mix tomatoes, spring onions and some ketchup.
Add this mixture to the omelet.
Roll the chapatti and cut into small pieces.
