Enjoying summer break with kids.

The school year has ended children are home, for summer break. Kids like to enjoy the summer break and want to spend a lot of time playing with their friends. Some children are interested in learning new things, some want to finish their projects which they have been working on and haven’t had the time to finish. Some kids love spending time with parents and they are eager to know more about how their parents spent their summer breaks. Spending some time together with children brings a lot of joy and happiness around.

Here are a few things we could do with our children to make summer break special:

Enjoying nature together: Children enjoy going on morning walks with their parents. A good morning walk, in the park, watching the sunrise, or looking at flowers blooming and looking for butterflies or bugs in the garden, while enjoying a good morning walk sounds interesting and is something all the children would often enjoy. Taking a camera along and taking a few pictures of kids enjoying a morning walk, sounds fun too.

Board games: Most times parents enjoy playing board games, but are busy with work-scheduling sometime either during the day or on a weekend to play a few board games, especially the ones we would play while growing up-like snakes and ladders, bingo, carom board sounds fun. This way kids get to enjoy, learn a new game, learn its rules and also get to spend some good quality time with parents.

Share a story: Children love listening to stories, sharing a fun incident from your childhood, like your first day at school or telling them about the places of interests you would visit and how your parents made sure we had you enjoyed your summer break or how grandpa helped you learn to ride the bike listening to these fun stories keeps children happy.

Love to draw: As most children enjoy artwork, they love it if we spend sometime drawing with them. This is not only fun but very interesting too; most parents enjoy drawing together with the children, this way we can teach them a few tricks and give them some useful tips, children love to come up with creative ideas and enjoy spending some time painting with their parents.

Learning new words: Children love learning new words and their meanings, introducing the dictionary and helping them learn a few new words which helps them build their vocabulary. Most parents also enjoy finding new words this way they can spend some good quality time together.

Reading books: We all enjoy reading, and I am sure we all had a few favorite books we have read and would want your children to read too. I remember my mom giving me an interesting book from her childhood, and I’ve enjoyed reading it to my children.

Watching funny television shows: Children enjoy watching some funny television shows- often times we can hear them laugh loudly and giggle while watching these cartoons. I enjoy watching at least one funny or comedy television show in a day and make sure I sit down with my children to watch our favorite Tom and Jerry show. 

Spending some time during summer break with children sounds fun.
