Making Friday evening’s fun for the whole family!

After working hard the whole week most of us love to spend some time relaxing and finding something fun to do. We all come up with our own convenient ways and make sure we do a few things to make Friday evenings special. Children love Friday evenings and get to play longer, sometimes we like to sleep early, and sometimes we like stay up late and watch a game of cricket or football. Making Friday evenings special and doing something together as a family spending sometime together sounds interesting.

There are a lot of things we could do and enjoy some time together as a family.

Get creative: We all have a creative side, and we enjoy spending sometime doing some art/craft projects. There are a lot of things we can do with children and come up with some creative ideas, like making a kite, a wind chime, a wall hanging, hand made easy to make friendship bands, bookmarks, decorating a photo frame, or planting a tree. This is a good way to encourage children and help them come up with new creative ideas.

Laughter hour: This is my favorite; I often look for jokes or funny videos and share it with the family on Friday evenings. Sometime we take turns and tell jokes or sometimes we just watch our favorite comedy television show together.

Game time: Everyone has a collection of board games, at home. Understanding the rules and playing-enjoying game time together with our kids is a good way of spending some quality time. Spending a couple of hours on Friday evenings playing with kids sounds fun.

Put up a talent show: We all have some hidden talents in us some of us like to sing, some like to dance, some like to play a musical instrument or some of us like to write poems. Sitting together with the family and putting up a talent show or having a show and tell session where parents and kids can come up with different things, to talk about-some may like to talk about their science projects, some may like to play the piano or some children would like to show some dance steps which they have learnt at after school classes.

Act a skit: Acting a skit, getting the children involved, sounds fun. Coming up with a skit, writing a dialogue or a part to be played by each character and arranging the setting around the house and dressing up and then acting out a short skit, this way children learn to write a dialogue and come up with a lot of different creative ideas.

Story time: We all enjoy reading short stories, but how about writing a story with as a family. I remember writing stories as a family and we would often end up with a nice story, which would have a moral at the end. Mom would then add it to a file, which was made especially for writing stories.

Friday family fun!
