Being mindful and using a few things thoughtfully is always a good idea. Being aware and using few things judiciously in our daily lives helps us save the environment and shows we care. Reusing a few things whenever possible is a good way to help contribute by leaving something for the future generation. There is a lot we can do by contributing a little in our daily lives.

Here are a few:

Using lunch boxes instead of zipper bags or brown paper bags: Lunch boxes can be washed every night and used again the next morning, this we avoid using sandwich bags, or zipper lock bags or brown paper bags.

Reuse wrapping paper: Most times we receive a lot of gifts, during holidays and special occasions, by carefully opening the gifts we can use the wrapping paper for wrapping another gift.

Share books: Sharing books with friends, neighbors, a family member is a good way to save the environment. Joining a library and borrowing books or magazines is also a good idea.

Storage containers instead of throw away containers: While storing food in the refrigerators using storage containers woks best as these can be reused again.

Use cotton kitchen napkins: In the kitchen using cotton napkins instead of paper ones is another good way. Using hand napkins instead of paper napkins on the dinner table is another good way.

Use old towels and old pillow covers: Using old pillow covers to wrap around saris and delicate dresses instead of throwing them. Using old towels to making smaller napkin, mops or rags for cleaning.

Jute bags instead of plastic ones: Remembering to carry jute bags to the grocery store and having a few in the car helps us save on plastic bags. Using jute bags while grocery shopping is another good way to show we care.

Old shirts: Old t-shirts or shirts can be as liners for lining closets, these can be used when children are doing some artwork; these come in very useful and help us avoid mess.

While making cakes and muffins avoid using disposable baking trays: Investing in a few baking trays and avoiding disposable or one time use baking trays is yet another way we can use a few things carefully in our daily lives and show we care.

Reusable water bottle: Investing in a few water bottles, which can be washed and reused in also a good idea.

Reusing plastic container or jars: We often receive a few plastic  jars or containers containing pretzels and cookies, reusing these to store rice or dried beans is a good way of using these jars.

There are a lot of ways we can contribute a little in our daily lives.
